De Stichting Kabelkrant Ameland bestaat sinds augustus 1988. Het doel van de stichting is het objectief verzorgen van nieuws, informatie en ontspanning voor de inwoners van Ameland en de hier aanwezige toeristen. Dit gebeurt door middel van radio-uitzendingen via de Lokale Omroep Ameland (L.O.A.) en teksttelevisie via de kabelkrant.
